My Personal Video Streaming and ZOOM Setup
Austin J Holt’s Professional Streaming/Video/Zoom Setup
Hey there! People ask us all the time how we get such crisp video/audio on our ZOOM calls and our pre-recorded trainings.
Here’s a list of literally everything we use and where to purchase them. Yes, these are affiliate links, so if this information is helpful for you and/or saves you time and risk of purchasing stuff you won’t like and have to return or lose money on, please purchase through our links!
It took us quite a while to piece our whole setup together. I promise this guide will save you a ton of time and energy (And money!).
Okay, here’s our setup:
Camera: Sony A6000: https://amzn.to/3DZMvLm
We love this camera because it shoots incredible photo/videos, works with a wide variety of lenses and is at an incredible price. It’s easy to use, can take on a wide variety of lenses, has some WIFI capabilities, can connect to your phone, etc. It’s also light weight, and not overkill for a home studio setup.
AC Battery Adapter: https://amzn.to/3UQhMGv
We love this adapter because with it, you can plug your camera into a wall outlet and never run out of power! Who likes batteries anyways?
Elago Cam Link: https://amzn.to/3rbBv69
This little adapter will help you hook up your A6000 to your computer with EASE. Other options are very pricey and don’t come with any huge advantages.
Camera to Elago Cable: https://amzn.to/3dTpsqX
This connects your camera to your Elago Cam Link
Camera Lens Option 1: Sigma 16mm: https://amzn.to/3BV1aoz
This lens is great for shots with 1-2 people in the frame… or, if you don’t have a very DEEP space to film in. This lens can also create shots that have that “artsy blurry look” similar to option 2. (We use this on most of our video trainings/group calls)
Camera Lens Option 2: Sigma 30mm: https://amzn.to/3dUsX0b
This lens is great if it’s just you! Because of its “aperture” and “focal length” it can shoot shots with a very shallow depth of field (you know, the artsy blurry look). It’s also a great portrait lens, so it’s super versatile.
Camera Arm Mount: https://amzn.to/3SCXLS3
You will need this to mount your camera to your desk or wall.
Camera Mount Swivel Adapter: https://amzn.to/3rlSDpz
This will help you mount your camera to your arm mount and will help with angles and ease of use. Trust me. This is super handy.
Random Adapters you will need for micro adjustments when mounting: https://amzn.to/3CfwiQS
Trust me on this one too – these will come in handy, should you need to make some fine adjustments with mounting your camera (and microphone).
Lighting Kit: https://amzn.to/3UMZiGX
This is a GREAT lighting kit. We actually use (2) of these. (4) lights in total. Amazing quality for the money.
Desk Stands for Lighting Kit: https://amzn.to/3fslINC
If you want to mount your lights to your DESK, rather than have the on stands on the floor, grab some of these.
Audio Interface Option 1: https://amzn.to/3ChsnTC
This is how your connect your microphone to your computer. This option is really good for just one mic.
Audio Interface Option 2: https://amzn.to/3dLGpnj
This is another option for how you connect your microphone to your computer. However, this unit can work with multiple inputs simultaneously. So if you are in a band, or want to start a podcast, you will need this!
Microphone Option 1: Rode NTG3: https://amzn.to/3LQwlWw
This is a “shotgun’ microphone and is one of the best ones out there. It’s great for hanging above your PC and “aiming” it toward your face. It’s so high quality, it can be pretty far away from you and still camera studio like audio.
Microphone Option 2: Yeti: https://amzn.to/3ChwwqF
This is another great microphone option. It can be mounted to an arm mount OR it can sit flat on your desk. Many content creators use this microphone.
XLR Cable for your Microphone to Audio Interface: https://amzn.to/3dO7kPo
You will need one of these to connect your microphone to your audio interface.
Overhead Mount for Microphone: https://amzn.to/3SCXLS3
Here’s another mount in case you want to suspend your mic, so it’s not sitting on your desk right in front of you.
Extra Fancy: (totally optional 😉 )
Elgato Stream Deck: https://amzn.to/3UXHMQy
This little bad boy will help you stream with ease. You can assign specific functions to custom buttons that you can press in real time. Example… Want to hear the sounds of a cheering crowd when you say something intelligent? You can program a button to do that!
My Favorite Monitor: https://amzn.to/3rgLsPw
If you’re looking for an incredible monitor thats big enough to help you manage your stream or video recordings, I would encourage you to treat yourself and pick up one of these.
Great all around PC: https://amzn.to/3CkiXqJ
There are so many great options out there for computers – really, really do your research. This one is incredible for the money, packs plenty of power and includes a keyboard and mouse too.
Logitech G513 Keyboard: https://amzn.to/3LUvmEL
This is my most favorite keyboard on the planet.
Logitech MX Anywhere Mouse: https://amzn.to/3RjN7i4
My most favorite, versatile mouse out there.
